2019 - 2020 Winter Registration

2019-2020 Elementary and Middle School Wrestling registration is now open!

This will be Arlington Wrestling Club (AWC)’s 12th season and it’s poised to be one of our best with several returning state and national medalists as well as a strong group of athletic wrestlers from our summer programs.

All registration is online at www.ArlingtonBobcatWrestling.com and you can read all about our program on the site. This year we are upgrading our warm ups and team socks. Each wrestler will receive a sublimated hoodie and a T-Shirt. Wrestlers will have the option to re-use their blue singlet, compression shirt or MMA shorts from last season (if they still fit) or order a new set.

2 options for registrations: The regular season, mostly local, will start in mid-October and end in Mid-January with the MidSouth Championships. We would rather see your wrestler continue wrestling for years to come then get burnt out. Our Travel season, known as the Apex Predator program is in addition to the regular season and for the family that is looking for a more competitive experience and willing to travel. Apex Predators will continue on through States in late February/Early March.

Cost for the Regular season is $325 for a new wrestler. This fee includes:

  • USAW and AAU memberships (required for insurance and the tournaments we participate in)
  • Uniform; Singlet OR Compression shirt; MMA shorts; AWC Socks; Hoodie & T-Shirt
  • Tournament fees; up to six tournaments, most are local
  • For returning wrestlers: A discount of $40 will be applied IF you are reusing last season’s Singlet or compression shirt. A $30 discount is applied if you are reusing last seasons MMA shorts. Both are questions you will see during registration.
  • A little fundraising is required; You can pre-pay for your pancake breakfast tickets ahead of time (or OPT out of fundraising) through the registration process
  • To coincide with our goal to see your wrestler continue to wrestle for a long time, we have added a NON-Compete option to registration. This is for those who know they just want to practice only. We will still order gear and have to get your memberships so the non-compete option will be a small discount at check out. An initial deposit is still required by Oct. 1st.

We ask that you complete registration online and submit an initial deposit of at least $100 by October 1st so we can have your gear ready for our first competition. A late fee of $25 will be imposed on orders starting on Oct. 1st.

The Apex Predator (travel) program fee is $100 which includes TNAAU Regions & States, out of state tournaments, AAU Top 100 or similar and the Dixie Nationals. The deadline to decide on this option is December 15th. A separate registration through our website.

Parents meeting at AHS Study hall September 30th at 6:30pm

Practices will be similar to last year, with upper elementary and middle school practicing Mon, Tue & Thurs. 6-8pm. Our younger wrestlers will continue to practice Tue & Thurs only 6-7:30pm. *Some wrestlers may move between teams for the right partners and/or instruction.

We tightened our age groups up this year. If you have a 4 year old that is interested, you must talk to Coach Chris before you register them.

Our High School is a top high school program in the state that is on pace for a Six-peat of region individual and team champions while continuing to rise on the state level. It is a long term goal of our program to continue to feed wrestlers into the program that have a strong foundation and love for the sport. If you know of anyone interested in trying out wrestling, please refer them to our open house on 9/09 or 09/17 at 6:30pm in the AHS wrestling room. Open houses are an opportunity to try out an abbreviated practice, try on gear and meet the coaches. Anyone wanting to try on gear before they register is encouraged to stop by and see how it fits.

Finally, follow us on Facebook @ArlingtonYouthWrestling for updates and events. We offer year round wrestling opportunities for anyone who is interested.

Hope to see you on the mat soon,
